I wanted to take a few minutes today to write my own personal Pentax K7 review. I had a pretty hard time deciding which of the many cameras on the market to choose, and I actually spent several weeks reviewing all of the options, comparing the different features, and making my decision. I am writing this review with the hopes of helping others make their own great decision. Ultimately, this camera is everything I was looking for, and so I want to share with you why I bought it.

The Features That Sold Me

In my Pentax K7 review, I have to mention the various features that sold me on this camera. This is a digital SLR camera that has 720p HD video capabilities and 14.6 MP still-shooting capabilities. It has shake reduction, a high speed shutter response, advanced autofocus, and more. Plus, it is also lightweight and easy to hold. To me, it seemed to have all of the features I wanted without loading up on more advanced features that I didn’t want to fiddle with, and that I also did not want to pay for.

Making the Decision

Before I bought this model and decided to write my Pentax K7 review, I was deciding between this model and the more expensive K5 model. The K5 model is priced a few hundred dollars more than this and does have more advanced features to show for it. However, based on my needs, I thought that the features in the K5 were a bit overkill. I didn’t feel like I needed an even faster shutter response time or 1080p video capabilities over 720p. Honestly, I cannot tell the difference between those myself, so I didn’t feel like I needed to pay for those minor upgrades.

How It Handles

I can tell you in this Pentax K7 review that this is an advanced camera that really does handle beautifully, and I found it to be a great value at the price. I had decided to buy it online after reading various specs and reviews, and I tried to find it in local stores so I could see how it felt in my hands before I bought it. Ultimately, I had a hard time finding it in local stores, so I headed back home to order it. I suggest that if you are interested in buying this quality camera, you save yourself a trip to local stores and instead just buy it online like I ultimately did.
